COMMUNITY communications department (J-Kom) director-general Khairuddin Othman has been removed - just six months after his appointment.

Khairuddin confirmed his departure after six months in office, but declined to elaborate.

"It is true. It (contract) has been terminated. I am no longer the DG (director-general)," he said.

He said all questions on the matter should be referred to Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

The former two-term Paya Jaras assemblyman from PKR was appointed to the position on March 1, succeeding Agus Yusoff.

That followed controversy over an alleged video call between Agus and a staff member which featured a salacious conversation.

However, Agus said he had left because he received a new job offer. - September 24, 2024
