WHILE many may be drawn into living the high life, it is always important to live within your means - a 27-year-old woman recently found this out the hard way.

X account @meinmokhtar shared how most of her friends were from the M40 group and how they expected her to also live their lifestyles.

She shared how she only makes RM2,400 a month basic salary, while the rest depends on her sales commission.

"I have an RM40,000 car loan which I have to pay for nine years, an RM38,000 seven-year personal loan and RM15,000 credit card debts," she wrote.

She also said she had no assets and paid RM550 monthly rental, adding that she was embarrassed to speak about her debts.

"I have tried looking for a second job, but have been unsuccessful," she said.

Netizens meanwhile advised her to take one step at a time and not take on any other liability.

"Focus on settling your debts and cut down on going out with your friends," said one netizen.

Another told her to come clean and be honest with her friends and live within her means. - November 18, 2024
