NO ONE will be charged over the implementation of the now-defunct RM4 billion 1BestariNet project, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said today.

In a statement today, it said no criminal elements were found in the tender process for the 1BestariNet project,

MACC said it had received instructions from the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) that no charges were necessary.

“The deputy public prosecutors have ordered MACC to submit a full report on the findings of its investigations to the education ministry, along with its recommendations,” it said.

MACC said one of its recommendations was for the Education Ministry to engage YTL Communications to resolve any issues arising from the agreed tender service contract.

Yesterday, YTL Communications announced it had been cleared of any wrongdoing by MACC in the multi-billion-ringgit 1BestariNet Internet project. - December 19, 2024
