Bersatu looking to expand influence in Sarawak

PARTI Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia intends to expand its influence in Sarawak ahead of the coming state election scheduled for middle of next year.

Bersatu Sarawak central leadership committee held a meeting in Kuching and passed a resolution to extend its reach to villages in sub-urban and rural districts.

Party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin and Bersatu Sarawak information chief Alexander Frusis called on state party leaders to work harder in expanding its networking beyond urban Sarawak.

"The central leadership team for Bersatu Sarawak has been confirmed for the 2025 to 2027 term.

"We will be expanding more aggressively in this state, with greater attention towards the rural areas.

"The party also discussed the latest political developments and socio economic issues," he said in a statement today after the central leadership meeting.

Former Senator Jaziri Abdillah Suffian remains Bersatu Sarawak chairman, while Saratok Member of Parliament Datuk Ali Biju is in the state central leadership committee. – February 18, 2025
