ANOTHER suspect believed to be involved in the kidnapping of a teenage girl near Sendayan, Seremban on April 10, was arrested in the capital yesterday afternoon.

Negeri Sembilan Police Chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof said the woman, in her 50s, was believed to be involved in accepting the ransom.

"Yesterday, our party arrested a woman in her 50s who is suspected of being involved in the kidnapping case. The suspect was arrested in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, at 12.50 pm.

"A remand application was made at the Magistrate's Court and the suspect was remanded for 14 days until April 30 to assist in the investigation," he said as reported.

Commenting on the suspect's involvement in the case, Ahmad Dzaffir said that his party was still conducting further investigations into the extent of the woman's involvement.

"However, based on initial investigations, the woman is suspected of receiving the money requested by the kidnappers. However, we are still conducting further investigations into whether she has other connections," he said.

On Monday, it was reported that one of the suspects believed to be involved in the case was shot dead in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang, Selangor, early that morning.

Datuk Fadil Marsus, the deputy director (intelligence/operations) of the Criminal Investigation Department at Bukit Aman reportedly said that the 21-year-old male suspect tried to escape when arrested and drove against the flow and crashed into a police vehicle.

According to him, the kidnapping incident at 5.45 pm on April 10 involved a 16-year-old girl with a ransom demand of RM2 million.

Six suspects consisting of three men and three women were arrested in Seremban last Monday and remanded for 14 days. - April 17, 2025
