IN what could be described as a 'heart-stopping' moment for motorists, two gas cylinders fell off a lorry which was allegedly speeding while heading to Gadek, Melaka.

Based on a dashcam recording which went viral yesterday, the incident occurred after the lorry's safety net was torn off, causing the gas cylinders to roll onto the road.

No accidents were reported, and vehicles passing through the area managed to avoid the cylinders scattered on the road.

A check in the comments section found that many expressed concern about road safety, especially in such unexpected situations.

According to a road user in the comments sections, she was in a Perodua Myvi with her husband and one-year-old baby when she witnessed the incident.

Fortunately, she said her husband had kept his distance as they had noticed the lorry speeding earlier.

Others said they had witnessed similar incidents in the past and urged road users to be extra cautious. - April 30, 2025
