PENANG Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow led a delegation to pay last respects to teenager Tan Tze Kim, 18, who was found dead at the fifth-floor podium of the state administration complex of Komtar last Friday.
The teenager was believed to have fallen from the 68th floor of the commercial and administrative complex in the heart of George Town, with suspicions hovering over how he managed to access the topmost floor since the building has a high security presence.
"I paid my last respects to the late Tan at the Gat Lebuh Macallum car park, where his body was placed after he fell to his death at Komtar," Chow posted on social media.
Chow spoke with the deceased's mother, Chan Jo Ann, grandmother Ow Yeng Saw Cheng, and other family members to convey his deepest condolences during this difficult time.
"I hope they will find strength and comfort as they cope with this heartbreaking loss. The funeral is scheduled for today, with the cremation ceremony at the Batu Gantong Crematorium."
Chow was accompanied by state executive councillor Lim Swee Khim, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng, political secretary Lau Keng Ee, Tanjong MP Lim Hui Ying’s representatives and state officials. - July 28, 2026.
