POLICE are looking for a man who brought his pet dog to a nasi kandar restaurant in Segamat Baru, Segamat, recently.

In a video which has since gone viral, the man, believed to be in his 20s, was seen placing the dog on a chair in the restaurant before the employee of the premises lodged a police report.

Segamat District Police Chief Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said police tracked down the video after it was circulated on social media.

According to him, investigations found that the incident occurred at around noon on Sunday.

"In the viral video, an individual was seen bringing his pet dog along to the restaurant and one of the workers has lodged a police report.

"The employee also informed that the chair the dog was sitting on had been thrown away after the matter was reported," he said.

He said efforts to trace the man were being carried out for investigation under the Local Government Act 1970. – May 17, 2025
