THE home of Mirzan Mahathir was broken into on Wednesday with robbers carting away jewellery and other valuables worth almost RM1.8 million.
The incident reportedly occurred at 5pm when the Filipino helper informed his daughter, Khadijah, 29 that the padlock for the back door had been cut and her room had been ransacked.
Khadijah then checked her bedroom and confirmed that someone had broken in.
She also confirmed that several valuables were missing.
Among the items reported missing include a Cartier bangle, gold rings, earrings, a pair of golden chopsticks, jade bangles, old passports and foreign currencies.
According to the police report sighted by The Vibes, the total loss was estimated at RM1.8 million.
The house is an end-lot two-storey bungalow on a 1.5-acre plot with 24-hours security.
It belongs to Mirzan, who is former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's eldest son.
A forensic team from IPK Kuala Lumpur consisting of five officers and personnel have since conducted dusting and recovered three fingerprints from the bedroom.
The Solex padlock has also been taken as evidence and the fingerprints will be sent to Bukit Aman for further investigations.
There are 16 CCTVs in the house but only with live view and no recordings.
A K9 unit from Pulapol was also at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking. - July 25, 2025
