THE targeted subsidy for RON95 is expected to be implemented by the end of this month, in line with the promise by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said that although the implementation took some time, the promise was still fulfilled as proof of the government's commitment to the welfare of the people.
"Insya-Allah, the Prime Minister will fulfill his promise to Malaysians, by the end of this month the price of RON95 petrol will drop to RM1.99 per litre through targeted subsidies.
"He is a man of his words. and every promise made will be implemented for Malaysians," he said in a post on his Facebook page.
At the same time, Saifuddin, who is also the Home Minister, reminded the public to immediately check the condition of their MyKad chip to ensure it is working before the implementation of the targeted subsidy begins.
“If the chip is damaged or cannot be read, don't worry, you can go to any National Registration Department (JPN) office or counter nationwide. God willing, it will be ready the same day. Easy and fast!
"Don't wait until the last minute. Check early so you can benefit from this special petrol subsidy for Malaysians," he said. - September 19, 2025
