FOUR teenage boys, including three current students and one former student, have pleaded not guilty at the Baling Children’s Court to charges of committing physical sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl between June and August this year.
The accused, aged between 15 and 17, appeared separately before Judge Rohaida Ishak and entered their pleas following the reading of the charges under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (Act 792). If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison and possible whipping.
According to the charges, the assaults allegedly took place on multiple occasions: three times at an oil palm plantation in Becah Sawa, Mukim Siong, and once inside a classroom at a secondary school in Baling, Kedah.
All four teenagers were unrepresented in court. Deputy Public Prosecutor Amirul Halimi Md Salleh led the prosecution. The court granted bail of RM3,000 each with one surety, on the condition that none of the accused contact or disturb the victim.
This case follows earlier reports in the media of the arrest of three students and one former student in connection with the circulation of an indecent video involving the same victim, believed to have been recorded during one of the alleged incidents.
The matter has drawn concern over student safety and peer exploitation in schools. The case is set for further mention on 27 November. - October 21, 2025
