THE cost of performing Hajj for Malaysian pilgrims in the 1447H/2026M season under the Muassasah scheme will remain at RM33,300 per person, announced Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) in a statement on Wednesday.
The subsidised rates for B40 and M40 income groups will also be maintained, with B40 pilgrims paying RM15,000 and M40 pilgrims RM23,500.
“Tabung Haji has allocated RM210 million for Hajj Financial Assistance, aimed at easing the financial burden on pilgrims in the B40 and M40 categories,” said the agency.
The B40 group will receive a subsidy of RM18,300, including a RM1,000 government contribution per pilgrim, while the M40 group will receive RM9,800 in support. Pilgrims in the T20 category will bear the full cost of RM33,300.
The announcement comes despite rising operational costs in the Holy Cities. TH credited strategic planning, including early bookings for accommodation and flights and long-term contracts, for enabling it to maintain the rates.
“This achievement reflects TH’s commitment to shielding pilgrims from the impact of inflation in Makkah and Madinah,” the statement read.
TH Chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain expressed confidence in the institution’s ability to uphold its service standards.
“TH remains committed to providing excellent services. We will strive to maintain the high-quality standards that pilgrims have come to expect,” he said.
He also extended appreciation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his continued support of TH’s efforts to keep Hajj costs manageable.
“We are also grateful to the Malaysian Government for maintaining the RM1,000 aid for each B40 pilgrim,” he added.
Offer letters for 31,600 selected pilgrims will be issued in phases beginning 24 October, while appeal applications will open via the THiJARI platform from 3 November.
Prospective pilgrims have been advised to update their personal details and ensure a minimum savings balance of RM15,000 to qualify for Hajj or submit an appeal. - October 22, 2025
