PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) has issued a firm objection to the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump at the upcoming ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, citing the United States’ alleged complicity with the Israeli Zionist regime.
PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged Malaysia to adopt a principled and resolute stance against the atrocities committed by Israel and its allies, including the US, which he said continues to deny the rights of the Palestinian people.
“The world now talks about ceasefire in Gaza, but a ceasefire without justice means nothing as it merely offers a temporary pause before the next attack,” he said during a debate in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday.
“We know that a ceasefire without justice is merely an interval between two assaults. As long as the genocide continues, the perpetrators go unpunished, and the rights of Palestinians are denied, peace remains a hollow and false promise.”
The 47th ASEAN Summit is scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 26 to 28 October, with Trump’s attendance confirmed by the White House.
Muhyiddin stressed PN’s firm opposition to Trump’s participation, especially while the humanitarian crisis in Gaza persists.
“Do not let Trump be welcomed with grandeur in Malaysia while the people of Palestine are drenched in blood and starving in Gaza.
“On behalf of the Malaysian people, Perikatan Nasional expresses its strongest anger and protest against the US administration for colluding with the Zionist Israeli regime,” he added.
