BERSATU has given itself until next month, after the Sabah General Election, to resolve internal tensions that have surfaced within the party
Datuk Razali Idris, a member of BERSATU’s Supreme Leadership Council, said all top leaders are concentrating on helping Perikatan Nasional reclaim governance in Sabah during the upcoming election.
“The internal issues that arose, which caused dissatisfaction among certain leaders, will be reconciled after the Sabah election. All members of the Supreme Leadership Council have agreed to resolve the party’s differences harmoniously,” he told reporters today after officiating the state-level National Environment Day celebrations.
Razali, who also heads BERSATU’s state leadership, clarified that the dispute does not involve any of Perikatan Nasional’s component parties.
He added that statements by PAS Vice-President Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah earlier this week, urging a speedy resolution to BERSATU’s internal issues, are viewed by the party as reminders to maintain coalition unity.
“The remarks from Datuk Mohd Amar serve as a prompt for us to ensure that internal challenges do not negatively affect Perikatan Nasional or its component parties, including PAS,” Razali said.
