PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today inaugurated two flagship initiatives under the government’s people-focused development agenda, the Sahabat Penggerak MADANI programme and the People’s Welfare Insurance Scheme (SIKR) 3.0, reinforcing efforts to enhance the social safety net and empower communities at the grassroots level.
The launches coincided with the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme and the three-day National Convention on Public Service Reform 2025, which began on Friday and concluded today.
Both initiatives demonstrate the administration’s commitment to promoting the welfare of Malaysians through inclusive social protection policies grounded in MADANI values.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, alongside Cabinet Ministers, senior civil service officers, and heads of departments, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs).
The ‘Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku’ programme has seen a remarkable public response, drawing 304,107 visitors in its first two days, surpassing the initial target of 300,000 attendees.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil attributed the strong turnout to favourable weather on the programme’s final day. “
“Alhamdulillah, the weather looks good. At first, we were a bit worried… holding the event outdoors during the monsoon season could have affected attendance. But so far, at least for the final day, the third day, the weather has been quite favourable.
“I saw many people turning up this morning, and various activities are being held. So, I expect today’s attendance to be strong,” he told Bernama.
Fahmi emphasised the significance of the programme in marking the third anniversary of the MADANI Government while serving as an annual platform for direct reporting to the public.
“We are all looking forward to the speech that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver shortly. This also marks the celebration of three years of the MADANI Government, making it especially meaningful. But more importantly, our focus is on the efforts that lie ahead,” he said.
The Rancakkan MADANI initiative continues the government’s tradition of annual public engagement, following the ‘One Year with the MADANI Government’ and ‘Two Years with the MADANI Government’ events in 2023 and 2024.
Organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), the event also ran concurrently with the 2025 National Convention on Public Service Reform, bringing together policy experts, civil servants, and industry stakeholders to discuss strategies for improving public service delivery.
With the final day of the programme underway, attendance is expected to continue climbing, reflecting widespread public interest and engagement in the government’s social and policy initiatives.
