KOTA KINABALU – Sabah this year commenced the digitalisation of its public service as part of efforts to realise the digital government concept.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Md Noor said the initiative will enhance the state government’s delivery system to better serve the people.
“It will revolutionise the people’s mindset and change the way of doing things in the state’s civil service.
“Surely this will have a high impact on the state’s public service and boost productivity,” he said at the launch of a smart library at the state Public Service Department (PSD), at the State Administrative Centre here today.
Hajiji urged all civil servants in the state to embrace digitalisation, as technology is becoming more sophisticated by the day.
He commended the development of the smart library, which is under the digitalisation initiative and allows civil servants to obtain information much faster.
The library is equipped with e-books, e-magazines and online learning facilities.
The chief minister expressed hope that more of such projects will be developed to facilitate data sharing, towards realising the digital government concept.
