DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim stressed that the main focus of this Chinese New Year celebration is to strengthen the people's unity and to refrain from discussing other issues that could disrupt harmony.

According to the Prime Minister, the celebration should be used as a platform to foster a spirit of togetherness among the multi-racial people and strengthen national unity.

“This celebration is about unity. That is what is important now. Don’t be busy with other things. Be patient first, other things can be discussed later,” he said when met after attending the MCA Chinese New Year Open House today.

The Prime Minister said this when asked about the warning by Pandan Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli who reminded the MADANI Government not to underestimate the people’s sentiments while attending the “Tangkap Azam Baki” rally in Kuala Lumpur, last Sunday.

Earlier, in his speech, Anwar said he hoped the Year of the Horse would drive greater growth and bring Malaysia’s performance much better than before. – February 17, 2026
