PUBLIC frontline services, including healthcare, enforcement and education, will not be included in the work-from-home (WFH) policy if implemented, said Communications Minister, Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Speaking at the post-cabinet meeting press conference today, the unity government spokesman said the cabinet had since received an initial report on the proposal.

"However, several aspects still require further finetuning before it is presented at the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations," he said.

He said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had also requested that the report be more comprehensive when presented at the NEAC meeting.

"Priority will be for non-critical sectors, and discussions were focused on the public sector.

"However, the private sector is not restricted from implementing WFH if there is a need, as done by some companies during the Covid-19 pandemic," he added. - March 17, 2026
