THE Ministry of Higher Education is actively exploring measures to help university communities, particularly students, manage the financial pressures arising from the escalating global energy crisis.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said today that the worsening energy situation has not only disrupted the global economy but also affected financial planning among staff, academics, and students within higher education institutions.
Zambry revealed that he recently met with representatives from the National Student Consultative Council (MPPK) to discuss strategies that the ministry and the government could implement to mitigate the impact of potential increases in living costs, including food and other daily necessities.
“Several ideas and proposals were presented. I have instructed the relevant officers to examine the matter seriously and give it due attention. God willing, in the near future, I will announce the plans as well as the initial measures proposed by MOHE to address this issue,” he wrote in a Facebook post.
The minister emphasised that student feedback is being actively considered and will be translated into concrete action.
