PUTRAJAYA is intensifying efforts to reposition the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme as a more competitive offering on the regional and global stage, with a focus on policy alignment and ecosystem improvements to attract higher-quality investments.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said discussions at the High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting on the programme today centred on streamlining policies, strengthening the overall framework and enhancing Malaysia’s value proposition to investors.
He said such measures are increasingly critical amid a more challenging global economic environment, where countries are competing more aggressively to attract capital and talent.
“God willing, these continuous efforts will help to boost investor confidence and strengthen the country’s economic position,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page..
Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, said he chaired the HLC MM2H meeting on Monday to deliberate on strategic approaches aimed at reinforcing Malaysia’s investment appeal.
He added that a more structured and targeted approach would be key to ensuring the country remains a preferred destination for investors while sustaining long-term economic growth. - April 13, 2026
