FORMER Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has said he is open to all political possibilities, including the prospect of joining PAS, should that be the collective decision of allies aligned with former Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
Wan Saiful, who previously held lifetime membership in PAS, said any future political alignment would likely be decided collectively among former Bersatu leaders aligned with Hamzah.
“Hamzah is a team player. I believe when he makes a decision, he will discuss it with all of us involved and we will make a collective decision together.
“I think many parties are inviting Hamzah (to join) because his sincerity and ability to lead are evident to everyone.
“So I am not surprised if Hamzah is accepted by PAS. As for me, I am open to all options (that are eventually decided),” he told Sinar Harian on Thursday.
His remarks come amid growing political discussion over Hamzah’s future role, following reports that PAS could consider absorbing him into its ranks as part of a broader strengthening of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) opposition bloc ahead of the 16th general election.
Earlier, Reset Federal Territories coordinator Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin suggested that PAS should consider bringing Hamzah into its fold, arguing that his presence could broaden opposition support across Malaysia’s diverse electorate.
Separately, Ketereh Member of Parliament Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor was reported to have said he would follow Hamzah should the latter choose to join PAS.
Wan Saiful added that any such realignment would also reveal the “true face” of Bersatu should Hamzah formally move to PAS, signalling potential wider shifts within the opposition landscape.
