THE discovery of a man’s body lodged among rocks and fallen timber in a stream near a rubber plantation in Kampung Pulai on Thursday is being investigated as murder.

The victim, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was found by members of the public at about 2pm before the discovery was reported to the Gua Musang District Police Headquarters.

Gua Musang district police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said preliminary investigations at the scene indicated that the deceased was a man in his 40s who was found submerged in water.

“The victim’s body is believed to have been caught on rocks and timber in the stream area near the rubber plantation,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

He added that the body was later sent to the forensic unit at Gua Musang Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Sik said the case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, while the motive remains under investigation.

He also urged members of the public with any information related to the case to come forward and assist investigations by contacting the nearest police station or the Gua Musang police headquarters at 09-9121222. - April 25, 2026
