A 40-year-old labourer faces a maximum sentence of imprisonment and at least ten strokes of the cane after pleading guilty to the repeated rape of his biological daughter - April 29, 2026

In a harrowing revelation of domestic abuse, a local labourer has admitted to multiple counts of incestuous rape against his twenty-year-old daughter at their family residence in Batu Pahat.

The accused, a father of four, entered his plea before Magistrate Arun Noval Dass following charges that detailed a series of assaults occurring between March 2025 and January of this year.

The case surfaced after the victim complained of persistent abdominal pain.

Upon being taken to a health clinic by family members, medical examinations confirmed the woman was eighteen weeks pregnant.

She was subsequently referred to Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital for specialist care and further investigation.

The prosecution, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Firdaus Ruslan, brought the charges under Section 376 (3) of the Penal Code, which specifically addresses the severity of rape involving family members or those in positions of trust.

Despite the gravity of the accusations, the defendant appeared in court without legal representation.

Although the plea was recorded in the Magistrate’s Court today, the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Sessions Court for the formalisation of facts and the handing down of the sentence.

Magistrate Arun Noval Dass has scheduled the proceedings for tomorrow, ensuring the accused remains in custody as no bail was offered given the nature of the crimes. - April 29, 2026
