POLITICAL tensions in Negeri Sembilan have been successfully contained following high-level discussions between UMNO and Pakatan Harapan (PH), reinforcing the durability of the Unity Government at both state and federal levels.

Unity Government spokesperson Datuk Fahmi Fadzil confirmed today that the outcome of the meeting ensures continued cooperation between coalition partners, safeguarding administrative stability in the state.

He said the Negeri Sembilan government would continue to function as normal under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

“The Negeri Sembilan Unity Government remains stable, and the administration is proceeding as usual under Aminuddin.

“Any issues that arise will be referred to the top leadership among the component parties to ensure that solutions can be reached collectively,” he said during the weekly press conference held at Angksapuri on Wednesday.

The consensus was reached during a Unity Government leadership consultative council meeting jointly chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

In a separate development, the MADANI government announced a comprehensive broadcasting strategy to ensure inclusive nationwide access to the FIFA World Cup 2026.

To achieve this, the government has partnered with the private sector to deliver high-quality coverage with wide reach. The official broadcasters in Malaysia have been named as Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Unifi TV.

The tournament will be available across multiple platforms, including free-to-air broadcasts via MYTV and over-the-top streaming through RTMKlik and Unifi TV, ensuring accessibility for audiences nationwide.

Coverage will span all 104 matches, with Unifi TV airing every match live, while RTM will broadcast a substantial number either live or on a delayed basis, offering viewers flexible viewing options.

A dedicated grandstand programme will be produced from Angkasapuri Kota Media, primarily in Bahasa Melayu with segments in English. Updates will also be featured in the Selamat Pagi Malaysia programme.

Public viewing events are planned at selected locations to enhance fan engagement, while several key sponsors have been identified and are expected to be announced soon.

Viewers who have yet to access RTMKlik are encouraged to download the application via Google Play or the Apple App Store. - May 6, 2026
