KEMAMAN MP and Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, has been appointed as the new Opposition Leader.

The decision was made at the PN Supreme Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur today.

Ahmad Samsuri, who is also the Menteri Besar of Terengganu, was appointed to the position to replace Larut MP, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, who resigned.

“The meeting agreed to appoint Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar to assume the responsibility as Opposition Leader,” according to a PN press statement which was also posted on Ahmad Samsuri’s Facebook page. – May 16, 2026
