JOHOR Perikatan Nasional (PN) seat distribution negotiations to face the State Election (PRN) are almost finalized with about 80 per cent of seats completed.

Johor PN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Sahruddin Jamal said the remaining 20 per cent of the seats were still under discussion, involving those for the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP), as well as proposed collaborations through electoral pacts with other parties, including MUDA and Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR).

"So far, the distribution of seats is still under discussion. About 80 per cent has been completed, and as we informed, PN will contest in all 56 seats," he said when contacted by Bernama.

Sahruddin said the coalition had also activated the machinery of the four component parties, namely Bersatu, PAS, Gerakan and MIPP, in the election campaign.

Yesterday, Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, announced the dissolution of the Johor State Legislative Assembly (DUN) after receiving the consent of the Regent Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, thus paving the way for the state PRN.

Meanwhile, MUDA, in a statement, announced that the party will defend the Puteri Wangsa seat and field more young candidates in this PRN. – June 2, 2026
