SEVEN Indonesian nationals, comprising one man and six women aged between 19 and 44, were arrested in raids on four rented homes in the Klang Valley last Tuesday over alleged illegal beauty and aesthetic treatment services.
The Immigration Department (JIM) said the raids, which began at 12.15pm, were conducted at residences in Jalan Uranus, Shah Alam, Pandan Perdana and two locations in Kepong.
“The modus operandi used was to offer beauty and aesthetic services to local and foreign customers, especially Indonesians living in the Klang Valley.
“The activity was promoted through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, with customers required to make appointments before receiving the services,” JIM said in a statement.
JIM said the operation followed public information and a month-long intelligence operation by its Intelligence and Special Operations Division at its headquarters in Putrajaya.
The department said the services were carried out from rented residential premises to evade detection by the authorities.
“The foreign nationals arrested are believed to have learned aesthetic treatment methods in their home country and Malaysia.
“The activity is believed to have been operating since last year and was capable of generating up to RM50,000 a month, depending on the number of customers and services provided,” it said.
JIM said officers seized medicines, treatment and beauty equipment, mobile phones and RM400 in cash believed to be proceeds from the services.
Two women and one man were detained for allegedly committing offences under Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, while three other women were detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the same Act.
The remaining woman is being investigated under Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.
All seven will also be investigated by the Health Ministry under Regulations 7(1) and 30(1) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 for allegedly possessing products not registered with the ministry.
The suspects were taken to the Putrajaya Immigration Office for further action.
The operation was conducted with the cooperation of enforcement officers from the Pharmacy Enforcement Branches of the Putrajaya, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur health departments.
JIM said enforcement action would continue against activities that violated Malaysian laws. - September 25, 2026
