SANDAKAN – School bus drivers in Sabah will finally get the RM600 one-off assistance in the next two weeks after the aid was announced last July.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said the delay was caused by a process of calling for eligible school bus operators and drivers to provide the necessary details to the Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) and the Land Public Transport Agency.

“This was followed by a verification process and it took some time to sift through details for incomplete or inaccurate information,” he said.

Wee told The Vibes this in response to Sandakan MP Vivian Wong’s statement yesterday on aid delay for school bus drivers here published yesterday.

“The CVLB will disburse the assistance in the next two weeks via Hong Leong Islamic Bank to the registered bank accounts of the 347 school bus drivers in Sabah,” he said. – The Vibes, January 23, 2021
