KOTA KINABALU – Sabah has allocated RM50 million for immediate use as part of its efforts to combat Covid-19 and assist affected residents.

A statement by the Chief Minister’s Office said of the total, RM10 million will go towards food baskets for those living in the districts of Tawau, Lahad Datu, Semporna and Kunak, which have been placed under the targeted enhanced movement control order.

The decision on the fresh aid was made at a state cabinet meeting here today.

Also decided was the abolition of the Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre.

Its role will be taken up by the state Covid-19 Disaster Management Committee chaired by the state secretary. – The Vibes, October 1, 2020
