KUALA LUMPUR – Umno should admit that it is no longer a powerhouse in the nation’s political arena, Bersatu youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal told Utusan Malaysia.

He was quoted as saying that the current political situation requires that all parties cooperate to ensure that their respective political agenda will be successful.

“If we don’t cooperate, we will all have losses and might lose (the election). Bersatu still hopes Umno will be with Perikatan Nasional (PN) so that three-cornered fights can be avoided.”

Last week, it was reported that Umno would no longer cooperate with Bersatu in the next general election, where the decision was made by Umno Supreme Council at a meeting in Janda Baik, Pahang.

Wan Fayhsal said Umno’s stubbornness and refusal to work with PN will only lead to the defeat of everyone in the ruling coalition, including Bersatu and PAS.

He added that this will result in the three parties’ inability to form a stable government.

“We need a stable government to ensure that the public are not dragged into political instability.” – The Vibes, February 24, 2021
