KOTA KINABALU – Sabah police are revising the standard operating procedures (SOPs) at schools in order to ease traffic congestion caused by parents sending their children to school.

State Police Commissioner Datuk Hazani Ghazali said that a discussion would be held with the education department, the internal security department, and the traffic police enforcement unit to address this issue.

“The existing practice causes traffic jams especially roads where schools are located.

“Many of these schools are located along main roads that are in use by drivers and are thus causing long and slow traffic to build up, especially during rush hours and after school sessions,” he said to reporters during his first-day-of-school visit to SK Darau near Inanam today.
