MIRI – “I’m loyal to my party and did not quit DAP,” said Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol amid recent rumours of defection and party-hopping.
He said he has not jumped ship to Perikatan Nasional (PN).
“I have not quit DAP or joined PN as claimed by the rumours. I am always loyal to my party and people in Mas Gading who voted me into office.
“I will always fight for the rakyat. Me and the (41) DAP MPs will always be loyal to the party and Pakatan Harapan,” he said in a statement today.
Mordi said there are attempts by PN to pinch MPs from opposition parties.
“They are using financial allocations as bait. These attempts are to secure the positions of those in the ‘backdoor’ government.”
Earlier, Sarawak DAP had refuted rumours of Mordi defecting to Perikatan Nasional.
Party veteran Chiew Ching Sing also said Mordi was not defecting.
“He told us that the rumours of him defecting are false. He has reaffirmed his commitment to us and Pakatan Harapan,” Chiew had told The Vibes. – The Vibes, March 12, 2021
