KUALA LUMPUR – Bersatu has allegedly sacked Titi Serong assemblyman Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim over his supposed role in the removal of deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu as Perak menteri besar.

Hasnul Zulkarnain allegedly voted against the confidence motion for Faizal tabled on December 3 last year.

Malaysiakini reported that he had approached the state PKR, but this was quashed by chapter chief Farhash Wafa Rizal Salvador Mubarak.

“No, I don’t think he applied for membership. I’ve heard rumours that he was kicked out, but Perak PKR will not accept him. Anyone can apply for a membership; they can register online. But I will not be accepting any traitors,” Farhash told The Vibes.

In the 2018 general election, Hasnul Zulkarnain contested on a Pakatan Harapan ticket.

The former Amanah member, seen as a rising star, was elected as the party’s Youth chief in December 2019.

Four months later, however, he defected to Bersatu and declared support for Perikatan Nasional. – The Vibes, March 23, 2021
