MIRI – The Covid-19 death toll in Sarawak reached 105 today with two new fatalities in the northern region, one each in Miri and Bintulu.
Out of the 192 new cases recorded, Miri accounts for 47 and Bintulu accounts for 38.
The state Disaster Management Committee (DMC) secretariat announced that the two fatalities involved a 62-year-old woman at Miri Hospital, while the other death was one of a 51-year-old man at Sibu Hospital.
The rest of the new cases were spread over Sibu (33), Kuching (23), Samarahan (13), and numerous other districts (less than 10 new cases each).
The DMC said that there are 33 active clusters in the state, with a new one discovered today called the Taman Vistago Cluster, which involves residents at a housing estate in Sri Aman district.
So far, 18 people were found positive, with another 115 having their screening results finalised. – The Vibes, March 29, 2021
