PUTRAJAYA – Civil servants are reminded to not be involved with the anti-vaccine movement, said Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
The chief secretary to the government said this includes making, publishing or distributing the related statements or rumours with the intention of causing public fear.
Action can be taken against government employees who do so, he said, adding that those found guilty face up to two years’ jail, or a fine, or both.
Speaking at the Prime Minister’s Department’s 2020 Excellent Service Award ceremony today, he called on civil servants to register for Covid-19 vaccination via MySejahtera.
“I hope that the vaccination programme can help eliminate this outbreak, which will allow us to return to a more conducive and prosperous life.”
Zuki is among those who have received the coronavirus jab. He received his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on February 25, and the second on March 18. – Bernama, April 1, 2021
