MIRI – Sarawak logged 620 new Covid-19 cases, four deaths and two clusters today, with 11 localities are placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said the fresh fatalities bump the death toll in the state to 188.
The four deaths today involve two women aged 57 and 78 in Bintulu Hospital, a 53-year-old man in Miri Hospital and 44-year-old woman in Sibu Hospital.
Out of the 620 fresh infections today, Bintulu recorded the highest number of cases with 128, followed by Miri (82), Kapit (81), Sibu (55), Meradong (51), Kanowit (42), Sri Aman (27), Belaga (26), Kuching (18) and Beluru (16). Other districts logged fewer than 15 cases.
The committee secretariat said the new Mongkos cluster in Tebedu, involving a school and village, recorded 14 infections, while the Bungang cluster in Betong recorded 12.
The two new clusters bring the total clusters in the state to 78.
