KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya will be going back to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) starting midnight on Wednesday to October 27.

In his Covid-19 press conference today, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision is made on the advice from the Health Ministry due to the rising coronavirus cases.

“To stop this pandemic from spreading further, the special National Security Council (NSC) meeting today has agreed to implement the CMCO in Selangor, Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya starting from midnight on October 14 to 27.”

Similar to the original MCO, inter-district and interstate travel will not be allowed, except for those working in other districts and states. However, they must have their work pass or employer permission letter to travel.

All other economic activities are allowed. Further NSC guidelines will be released soon.

Summary of the CMCO rules:

- No cross-district travel (workers need employer's letter)

- Max two people per household in a car to buy groceries

- Schools, mosques, universities, institutes, preschools, parks and clubs closed

- No social gatherings, including weddings and recreational activities, such as sports

In a later tweet, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he and his team are currently working with the NSC on the state level standard operating procedures (SOP) that will be shared with the public. – The Vibes, October 12, 2020
