KUALA LUMPUR – Police are on the lookout for three men, believed to be drug addicts, who fled the Pantai Ria People’s Housing Project (PPR) in Pantai Dalam here, which is currently under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

Brickfields police chief Anuar Omar said a report was lodged at the Pantai police station after a video of the escape went viral.

“A team of officers is working on the operation to identify and arrest the suspects, who are believed to be drug addicts.

“For now, we know that they ran towards the river behind the PPR.”

Berita Harian reported that a video of the shirtless men sneaking out from under a barbwire fence installed around the PPR has been circulating on social media.

Once the suspects had snuck out, they were seen climbing the fence and fleeing.

“The case is being investigated under Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342),” said Anuar.
