BUTTERWORTH – A new Covid-19 cluster has been detected here after a resident of a luxury condominium tested positive for the disease.

Health authorities today conducted checks at the condo in question, using loudhailers to address tenants of the two blocks and carrying out sanitisation.

The coronavirus patient lives in Tower B.

The condo, which has a total of 420 units, has been cordoned off.

It is believed that health personnel have made arrangements to screen all residents.

Penang Health Department director Dr Asmayani Khalib could not be reached for comment.
