KUALA LUMPUR – Despite a telephone call from police, activist Adam Adli remains unsure why he is to be questioned tomorrow.

“I’m not sure what the reason is,” he told The Vibes today, adding that he will provide the authorities with his full cooperation.

Earlier today, The Vibes received information that police will be investigating the youth activist turned PKR man over his alleged involvement in the #TangkapAzamBaki rally slated for this Saturday.

It is understood Adam will be questioned at the Dang Wangi district police station tomorrow. A press conference will be held afterwards.

Last week, social media was abuzz with the hashtag #TangkapAzamBaki (#ArrestAzamBaki), accompanied by a poster with the face of embattled Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief (MACC) Tan Sri Azam Baki and the words “Rombak SPRM” (Tear Down MACC) along with the date January 22, 2022.

Shortly after, a group calling itself the Arrest Azam Baki Action Committee issued a statement calling for Malaysians to take to the streets on January 22 to protest the perceived lack of action in a share-trading case involving Azam.

Police have since opened a probe into the rally, with Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim saying “an investigation is underway”. – The Vibes, January 19, 2022
