KUALA LUMPUR – Police had to step in to stop an argument on Friday between a group of friends after it sparked a commotion in front of a pub in Bangsar, police have said.
Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor said a team of officers had to step in as the situation began to escalate.
“The group of men, who were believed to be drunk, had started a verbal spat among themselves and police were compelled to take stern action against them,” Amihizam said when contacted.
The individuals involved had their details recorded before they were released, he said.
A video of the incident that went viral yesterday morning showed several police officers speaking to one individual and later rushing across the road to deal with another person believed to be arguing with their colleague.
Officers wearing yellow police reflective vests were later seen holding back several other individuals, in an apparent effort to defuse the incident. – The Vibes, March 28, 2022
