IPOH – Six students at the Dar al-Fawzan Tahfiz Centre in Seri Iskandar escaped unhurt after a fire broke out in one of the rooms at their hostel building.

A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department received an emergency call at about 4.46am today.

“The fire destroyed about 15% of a room on the top floor. A total of six male students who were staying at the hostel at the time of the incident are safe,” he said in a statement today.

He said firefighters from the Seri Iskandar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with the help of Batu Gajah BBP were rushed to the scene and the operation ended at about 5.20am. – Bernama, June 22, 2022
