KANGAR – The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Putra Sirajuddin Jamalullail today ordered that the homes of storm victims in the state be repaired immediately.

“The homes of the (storm) victims need to be repaired immediately, especially in this unpredictable weather interspersed with intermittent heavy rain,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs).

Earlier, His Royal Highness, who was accompanied by MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor and zakat coordinating officer Mohd Radzi Ahmad Rahim, spent about an hour visiting the victims and areas affected by the storm.

The statement also mentioned that one of the victims, Rohaya Ismail, did not expect to receive his visit.

“I am deeply touched by the visit of Tuanku Raja Perlis who is so concerned with our fate and welfare and we will always pray for Tuanku and the royal family to be blessed and protected by God,” said Rohaya.

Bernama reported today that 100 houses in several villages took damage, especially to the roofing, in the heavy rains and storms that hit the state yesterday. – Bernama, July 13, 2022
