KUALA LUMPUR – Lim Siew Kim, who is the daughter of the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, died yesterday at the age of 73.

Born in 1948, she was the third child of Genting Group founder and patriarch Goh Tong and his wife Puan Sri Lee Kim Hwa.

Goh Tong, who died in October 2007, and Kim Hwa, who died in August 2017, had six children – daughters Siew Lay, Siew Lian, and Siew Kim, and sons Tee Keong, Kok Thay, and Chee Wah.

However, the family was embroiled in many feuds – one with Siew Kim suing brother Kok Thay in 2017, alleging she was the beneficial owner of 796,250 shares in Genting Bhd, reported The Edge.

It was also reported that the feud between the siblings started in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

In the fallout, Siew Kim was estranged from her siblings having been on opposing ends of an RM2 billion family estate dispute.

She was also married to the late Dick Chan Teik Huat, of Kassim Chan & Co (now Deloitte). He was also the older brother of the late Chan Guan Seng, the founder of Apex Equity Holdings Bhd.

She leaves behind four children – Chan Jau Chwen, Chan Tshiao Li, Chan Tshiao Miin, and Chan Tshiao Yunn.

Her funeral service will be held next Monday, at 10am, at the Xiao En Centre in Jalan Kuari here. – The Vibes, July 15, 2022
