KUALA LUMPUR – Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali will continue to hold the post for another two years, the Prime Minister’s Office announced today.

It said that the reappointment on a contract basis was approved by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and the Public Services Commission.

Zuki’s next term begins today and ends on August 10, 2024.

He had first been appointed to the position on December 31, 2019.

“Zuki’s reappointment is based on national interests because his services as chief secretary to the government are still needed,” it said in a statement.

In 2020, Zuki was awarded the Panglima Mangku Negara honour, which carries the title of “Tan Sri” in conjunction with the birthday of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah  Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.

Zuki graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Nanyang University in Singapore, and has previously served in the Finance Ministry, Education Ministry, as well as the Natural Resources and Environment Ministry, among others.

He has also served at the Istana Negara and the Prime Minister’s Department, and held titles such as the Sarawak federal secretary and the Defence Ministry secretary-general. – The Vibes, August 11, 2022
