KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) has finalised seat allocations among component parties PKR, DAP, Amanah and Upko for the 15th general election (GE15), said state PH chairman Datuk Christina Liew.

She said she chaired the final meeting on the matter in Kota Kinabalu on Thursday, and the list of seats to be contested has been submitted to the PH leadership in Kuala Lumpur for approval.

Sabah PH has also reached a consensus on using a common logo for GE15, she added.

“We are in the process of ordering several thousands of flags, T-shirts, and caps for PKR members and supporters. For Tawau, I have placed my order,” she said in a statement today.

Liew also made a call for the public to volunteer as polling agents and counting agents by registering themselves for training at the Tawau Parliamentary People’s Service Centre next week.

The Tawau incumbent also rebutted claims that she is not a local.

“I was bred here and studied at the Sin Hwa Primary School in Tawau, and so did my children. My father worked as a contractor here. He was buried here when he passed away,” she said, adding that she has a house in Tawau.

She also took her critics to task for claiming that she had not done anything for the parliamentary constituency which covers the state constituencies of Sri Tanjung, Apas and Balung.

“When the right time comes, I will publicise a list of the development projects carried out by the Tawau Municipal Council using my MP funds,” she said.

She also detailed how she had distributed more than 16,000 food baskets during the Covid-19 pandemic, given out 1,000 free milk powder packs to B40 children this year, and donated some 4,400 prayer mats to 85 mosques and surau in the Tawau constituency. – The Vibes, October 15, 2022
