KOTA KINABALU – Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) today named two candidates for the 15th general election (GE15) in Sabah, for Kimanis and Sepanggar.

Party president Datuk Peter Anthony announced ex-civil servant turned entrepreneur, Amat Mohd Yusof, for Kimanis, and Jumardie Lokman for Sepanggar.

Jumardie is also a Universiti Malaysia Sabah staff.

Anthony said more candidates will be announced this Saturday in Tenom. The candidates come from various constituencies in the Sabah interior and from Sandakan.

He has hinted previously that he would likely contest the Tenom seat while KDM vice-president Datuk Juil Nuatim will contest in Papar.

Anthony reiterated that KDM will go solo in GE15, and be supportive of the government that is formed after the polls.

“Whichever party or coalition captures the mandate at the federal level and in need of the KDM support, we will give it to them,” he said.

Anthony has so far announced KDM’s candidate for Kota Kinabalu, namely the party’s division chief, Datuk Seri Winston Liaw. Bandau assemblyman Datuk Wetrom Bahanda will be fielded as KDM’s candidate for Kota Marudu.
