Probe launched into alleged cop violence against Myanmar worker

SEREMBAN – Police are investigating the alleged assault of a Myanmar factory worker by a cop in Taman Jasmin, Senawang, after a clip of the purported incident went viral on social media today.

Seremban district police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said a probe is ongoing to confirm the incident.

“If it is true, a police report will be lodged and the matter will be investigated accordingly. No one is above the law,” he told Bernama.

The six-second clip shows a uniformed man kicking the foreign worker repeatedly.

The victim is seen sitting next to other individuals while waiting his turn to get on a bus, to be taken to a quarantine centre. – Bernama, November 29, 2020
