KUALA LUMPUR – Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has announced the “Pakej Perpaduan” – a prepaid mobile data plan where users can enjoy 30GB for RM30 over a period of six months.

The package will be made available for the youth, B40 communities, the disabled, senior citizens, and veterans of the armed forces and police, and is estimated to start February onwards.

The telecommunications companies (telcos) currently involved with the programme are CelcomDigi, Maxis, UMobile, Telekom Malaysia, and YTL.

“Half the price, triple the speed,” he told a press conference at his ministry in Putrajaya today.

Fahmi added that RM30 for 30GB is the basic package as telcos are given the discretion to add on other services as they see fit.

The Lembah Pantai MP said: “I am confident that the steps taken by the ministry with strategic cooperation with telcos is in line with the unity government’s aim to reduce the cost of living and ensure connectivity.”

Meanwhile, Fahmi announced that his ministry will be making RM1 million in aid available for flood victims across the country.

The funds, consisting of cash and physical aid, will come from the ministry’s disaster fund. –  The Vibes, December 21, 2022
