KUALA LUMPUR – Controversial veteran politician Datuk Ibrahim Ali has trained his criticism on PAS leaders for their poor administration of Kelantan in the last three decades.
“That is why their prayers are being rejected,” he said, suggesting that the Almighty is cross with the party because PAS has done little for the betterment of the Malay-Muslim community in that state.
On the eve of his party’s first general assembly, Ibrahim, who is the president of the newly formed Parti Bumiputra Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) emphasised that members of Parliament from Kelantan are not upholding the trust given to them by the state’s voters.
“Just look at Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS), supposedly an Islamic party but having governed Kelantan for 30 years they are still not doing anything.
“They (the politicians) only bought Mercedes-Benz (vehicles) and increased their salaries. Joblessness has forced people to leave the state even though Kelantan is rich in so many ways.
“Sadly, we (the Kelantanese) are going backwards,” he said in frustration, adding that the majority of Islamic leaders practiced double standards.
“They say something to you, but do something else. That is why their prayers are being rejected by God (Allah).”
He added that the main reason why he established Putra is to make sure that the Bumiputera race is not left behind – economically and politically.
